# Migrating from API-Football

> Map common API-Football endpoints to SportsAPI Pro Football V2, with links to real example responses

If you are moving an existing football site or app from API-Football, this table maps the endpoints most projects use to their Football V2 equivalents. Every linked section includes a real recorded response.

Base URL: `https://api.sportsapipro.com/v2/football`. Authenticate with the `x-api-key` header.

## Differences to plan for

* **IDs differ.** Match, team, player and competition IDs are our own. Resolve them once through [`/search`](https://docs.sportsapipro.com/api-reference/football-v2/global) and store the mapping.
* **Times.** Every event carries `startTimestamp` in Unix seconds (UTC).
* **Status.** Use `status.type` (`notstarted`, `inprogress`, `finished`) and `status.code` for the exact phase. See the [status codes](https://docs.sportsapipro.com/api-reference/football-v2/match.md).
